Kaye Marie Hogg, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2012.
Born on May 13th, 1971 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, she was the first of 4 children (Kari, Karl and Kami followed) born to parents William and Janice (ne Ziehm) Marsack. She grew up in New Haven and graduated from Lutheran High School North. Afterwards she pursued a graduate degree in computing from University of Detroit Mercy. She worked in industry at EDS then and while working at a telecommunications company, earned an MBA from Oakland University. Kaye married Ian Hogg on December 28th 1999 and moved to Canton. They were blessed with the arrival of their daughter Sarah in 2002. Shortly thereafter they moved to Hartland where their son James was born in 2004. Kaye devoted her time to raising Sarah and James and helping out where she could at Cheryl Stockwell Academy (CSA) as they continued to progress through the school. She spent countless hours helping out in classrooms with spelling tests, guided reading, parties, Lego League, and devoted the last few years to working in the CSA library. More recently she was testing children for the academically gifted program at CSA. For a stay at home mom, she definitely didnt sit around at home; yet somehow she always fitted in the day to day tasks of a household. And as if that wasnt enough, she poured tremendous time and energy into being secretary of the subdivision association board for many years. With her attention to detail and phenomenal organization skills, she has made a significant impact to the local community. She has coordinated annual subdivision food drives for Gleaners food bank and the subdivision garage sales. She even hand painted glass ornaments for the annual winner of the Sub division Christmas Light competition. She also helped with the local girl scouts, boy scouts, and subdivision Relay For Life team. She truly was one of a kind and a true witness to her Christian faith through thoughts, words and deeds. Kaye was always compassionate, considerate, and gave out far, far more than she ever asked in return. While she will be sorely missed in everyones lives that she has touched, we can rest easy knowing that she is at peace with God.
She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Ian Hogg; dear children, Sarah and James Hogg; parents, William and Janice Marsack; siblings, Kari (Dennis) Schmalzel, Karl (Andrea) Marsack, Kami (Givan) Fox; nieces and nephews, Alex and Hannah Schmalzel, Jessica and Jacob Marsack as well as extended family and friends.
