Obituary for Robert Norman "Bob" Bayer

Robert Norman Bob Bayer, of Brighton died September 19, 2010. He was 80 years old.
Born December 3, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, Bob was the youngest child born to parents Peter Peterson Bayer & Carrie C. Nielsen. Bob was raised in southeast Michigan with his siblings Arnold, Eunice & Beulah; his brother and sisters liked to remind Bob often, even into their adult lives, that he was the baby of the family.
Bob attended Wayne State University for one year before he joined the Navy just prior to the start of the Korean War. He bravely prepared for active duty until he was injured in an auto accident. After recovering from his injuries, Bob returned to Wayne State where he completed his Business Degree.
At the age of 26, Bob was head of the Archery League at Multi Lakes Conservation Association. It was there that he met the love of his life Judith Dawn Traxler. In 1957 the couple was married and began their life together. Bob and Judy were blessed by the births of their children: Denise, Bob, Brad, and Jennifer. As a family, the Bayers were active at the Conservation Club, in the Explorers, and Boy Scouts and went camping often. There were many family road trips to Florida remembered fondly by the children as visits to see Grandma and Grandpa. Bob was a devoted family man and a member of Brighton Christian Church.
Bob was employed at Ford Motor Company as a cost analyst and retired after 37 years of employment there.
Survived by Judith his beloved wife of 52 years; loving children Denise (Michael) Brahm, Bob (Julie) Bayer, Brad (Tammy) Bayer & Jennifer Bayer; grandchildren Michael Richard Brahm, II., Crystal Marie-Dawn Brahm, Vanessa Nicole Bayer, Tara Marie Bayer, Jacqueline Elizabeth Bayer, Robert Raymond Bayer; great-grandchildren Mackenzie Taylor Brahm, Raelin Marguerite Brahm, and Jason Alexander Brahm; sister Beulah K. Harding, also extended family and dear friends. They mourn his passing and give thanks to God for his life among them.
