Angela Viviano, a resident of Brighton, and therapist with Brighton Hospital, died on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the age of 57. Born in Detroit on June 9, 1952, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Santina (Cossa) Viviano. After graduation from St. David High School, she earned a BA in Education from Eastern Michigan University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Angela loved literature and the arts; she painted with oils and acrylics, played the guitar and sang with the Livingston County Women�s Chorus. Angela was an avid reader and writer. She loved James Taylor and Seinfeld and cooking for family and friends, especially her pasta sauce. For the past seven years she worked at Brighton Hospital, where she was part of the book club, hospital choir and dinner club and deeply engaged with the community of colleagues and associates there. A woman of great energy and empathy, she lived life on life�s terms through hard times and good times.
She is survived by her son, Alex Sheldon; and daughters, Amanda (Chad) Armington and Katherine (Gordon) Andersen and her expected grandsons; her mother, Santina (the late Gene) Deneen; brothers, Frank (Jeanette) Viviano, Bob (Peggy) Viviano, Sal (Liz) Viviano; sister, Sue (Kent) Gordon; former spouse, Clayton (Anne) Sheldon and many nieces, nephews, dear friends, co-workers at Brighton Hospital, and her dog, Charley. She was preceded in death by her son, Clayton Matthew Sheldon and her father, Salvatore Viviano.
Funeral Services will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main Street, Brighton, on Friday, June 11, at 11AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday 3-9PM.
