Obituary for Joey Michael "Joe" Gruszka
Joey Michael “Joe” Gruszka, a resident of Brighton, former long time resident of Livonia, and native of Detroit, died on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 after having been diagnosed with lung cancer in January. He was 68 years old.
Joe designed and engineered commercial sound systems for over thirty-five years with Sound Engineering in Livonia. He later worked with Logicalis and most recently as an audio visual designer with National Business Systems. From the ’80’s to the 2000’s, Joe “Sound Man” worked in recording studios throughout Detroit keeping recording equipment, particularly Tape Machines, in perfect condition.
He is survived by Paula, his beloved wife of over forty years; his daughter, Angela (John) Ohannessian; his son, Daniel (Kasia) Gruszka; grandsons, Oliver and Henry Ohannessian; brother-in-law, Doug (Linda) Balogh; nieces and nephews, Lori and David Markesano, Marty Balogh, Kristy (Dave) Sidlar and many colleagues and dear friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton, on Saturday, April 27, at 12 Noon. Friends may gather from 10AM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
