Frances Marie Krayer, longtime resident of Brighton passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 83.
Frances was truly the matriarch of the family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Born on October 19, 1937. Frances was the daughter of James Bowlin and Connie Herring. Frances was extremely close to her maternal grandparents Elise and Harry Taylor. Frances grew up in Grosse Pointe Park and attended Grosse Pointe South High School. Frances attended college at Wayne State University and studied accounting. After graduating, she was employed at Arthur Andersen and loved her career. Frances married the love of her life, the late John D. Krayer on September 7, 1963 and they were happily married for 55 years. They were blessed with four wonderful children and ten grandchildren. As a mother she was always there for her kids, she showered them with love and supported them in every phase of their lives. She enjoyed watching them succeed in all of their academic and sports goals. As a grandmother she shared that same love and devotion to her grandkids. It brought her great joy to support her grandchildren in their many interests and activities.
Frances was known for her kindness, generosity, and volunteering. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, loved to travel with friends all over the world, and closely followed Michigan State University sports. She enjoyed many winters in Florida with her family and friends. In her youth, she was a very talented singer, and sang in her high school choir. She was very loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Loving mother of: John (Michele), Julie (Steve) Reinke, Joe (Jessica), and Connie (Kirk) Ciak. Proud grandmother of Trevor, Jack, Tyler, Austin, Dylan, Janina, Jennika, Paul, Gillian, and Charlie.
