Obituary for Thomas Patrick Enright

Thomas Patrick Enright of Brighton, Michigan and The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2016. Tom is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Nancy whom he married in 1964, his devoted children Nancy Lynn, John (Daniela) and Amy; and the grandchildren he cherished, Erin, Lorenzo, Tiago and Juliana. Tom is also survived by his siblings Mary, Patsy (Fred), Anne (Bob) and many friends he made throughout the years. Tom was preceded in death by his son Thomas Christopher, his siblings Sister Mary Norine, Peggy, Catherine and John.

Tom was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 8, 1936 to parents Patrick and Hannah Enright. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Brooklyn, and received his B.B.A in Statistics from City College of New York and his M.B.A in Administrative Science from Wayne State University in Detroit after serving in the United States Army in Japan. In 1962 he accepted a position with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. After 33 years he ended his prolific career as the Plant Manager of Ford Windsor Casting. Tom honed his expertise working in Florence, Alabama, Monterrey, Mexico, Northern Ireland and England.

Tom was a devout member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton, Michigan and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield, Florida. His generosity not only benefitted his family and friends but also his high school, St. Michaels’s in Brooklyn, The University of Detroit Jesuit High School, St. Patrick Catholic School in Brighton, Madonna College in Livonia and Wayne State University in Detroit. Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus in both Michigan and Florida and a Vincentian at St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Summerfield. In 2009 he was also invested into the Society of St. Michael in Brooklyn, New York

Tom easily made friends with his radiant smile, quick wit, humility and generosity of spirit. He enjoyed doing his daily crossword puzzles, Sudoku, Bridge, golf and tennis and traveling with Nancy and his family throughout the United States, Europe and Australia.

His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Road, Brighton on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors following at St. Patrick Calvary Cemetery with reception following. Viewing will be at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main Street, Brighton on Friday, October 7th from 5-8 PM .

A Memorial Mass of Thanksgiving with reception following will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at a date yet to be determined.
