Obituary for William D. Rodgers

William D. Rodgers, of Brighton and formerly of Detroit, passed away December 28, 2013 at the age of 87.

Bill was born on June 25, 1926 to parents, William and Olive Rodgers in Farwell, Michigan. During High School, Bill enlisted with the United States Army Air Corps and proudly served his country during WWII. Upon return from the war, he pursued his lifelong interest and career with automotive parts and founded Peerless Motor Products, where he worked until his retirement in 1997. On October 3, 1953, Bill and Katherine were married and together raised their two daughters in Farmington, Michigan. Bill was a member of the Scottish Rite, an active volunteer with the Yankee Air Force and the Michigan Stearman Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and his passion was restoring antique aircraft.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Katherine; daughters, Nancy (Paul) and Sally (Tom); sister, Shirley and many friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11 AM, with gathering beginning at 10 AM.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday, January 3rd, from 4-9 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan
