Obituary for Travis James Thomas
Travis James Thomas, a resident of Brighton, MI died suddenly on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was 38 years old.
Travis grew up in Goodrich, MI and graduated from Goodrich High School, class of 2001. He was a talented baseball player and played on the schools varsity team for four years with his brother, Ryan. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Kettering University and has been employed with Toyota as an engineering manager.
Travis met the love us his life, Caitlin Pogue at a local restaurant and the two began dating and soon became inseparable. They were married in a beautiful outdoor wedding in Oxford in the summer of 2008. Travis and Caitlin added to their family with their two daughters, Hadley and Molly. He loved his family and would go out of his way to spoil them, make them smile, laugh and would work tirelessly to make sure they were well taken care of.
Travis loved the outdoors and enjoyed bass fishing on local lakes, bow-hunting for whitetail deer and mountain biking on the many trails in our area. People found him approachable and he would find himself in conversations with total strangers who appreciated his kind soul and listening ear.
Travis James Thomas was patient, silly, loving, a devoted husband, proud father, son, brother and friend. He will be forever missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Caitlin K. Thomas (nee. Pogue); his daughters, Hadley Lauren Thomas and Molly Rose Thomas; his father, David R. Thomas and his mother, Mary C. Thomas; his sister, Katrina (Don) Spry and his brother, Ryan (Corrin Simon) Thomas; father and mother-in-law, Gordon and Sharon Pogue; brothers-in-law, Dylan, Ryan (Rebecca), Matthew, Kyle and sister-in-law, Taylor as well as many close friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1:00PM-6:00PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 600 E. Main St., Brighton 48116.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and CDC restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 25 guests at a time. Those attending are asked to wear a mask, maintain appropriate physical distance and be brief in visiting to allow others to do the same.
Funeral Services will take place at Brighton Hills Cemetery on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 1:00PM. Friends may gather beginning at 12:00PM.
