Obituary for Timothy Robert Berry

This is the story of the kindest olive-loving boater below the Mackinac Bridge. Timothy Robert Berry passed away while in the loving care of his family on February 25th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He now spends his time golfing in higher places with the One he admired most.

Born on March 30, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa, he was the 3rd of five children to Robert and Judith (Pouliot) Berry. He grew up in Detroit drinking coffee and working as a bartender before meeting his wife, Dana, and moving to the Hartland area.

Tim and Dana met in 1984 while watching the World Series at a sports bar. Tim proposed over pizza at Maria’s Pizzeria, where he first saw Dana. They were married in 1987 in Dearborn Heights. Little did Dana know her life would be filled with clock collections, yard-sale décor, and cool-guy dance moves.

Tim graduated from Wayne State University in 1986 with a degree in Business. He worked for 12 years at Tenpenny Furniture in South Lyon, then transitioned back into banking where he ended his career working at Ann Arbor State Bank for 10 years.

Tim and Dana have three kids, Alison (Brennen) Weber, Jack Berry, and Tucker Berry-Finn (dog). Tim loved life and his family. He was an admired, good-natured fisherman who enjoyed days at the family cottage at Burt Lake with the Tenpenny clan. He had a full-belly laugh and a genuine smile.

Tim will be missed by many. His love and amazing ability to drop one-liners cannot be replaced, and his unique, calm demeanor will forever be remembered by his family.
We love you Big Mac, Daddio, husband. We know you will be watching over us from a much better place.

He is survived by his wife, Dana of 31 years; children, Alison K. (Brennen) Weber, Jack J. Berry; siblings, Linda (Tom) Summers, Douglas (Liz) Berry, and Liz Williams; mother; Judith C. Berry; also many extended family and dear friends.

Timothy is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Berry and younger brother, Robert E. Berry Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St. Brighton, on Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at 7PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family would encourage memorial contributions to
