GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Sandra Elizabeth Radatz, a longtime resident of Brighton, died peacefully at her home on October 17, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.
Sandi was born on June 12, 1948 in Halesowen, England, the oldest child of two born to parents, Charles “Harry” and Catherine “Kitty” (Chipchase) Brittain. At the age of six, Sandi and her parents moved from England to Michigan and made their home in Detroit. Following graduation from St. Hedwig High School, Sandi Brittain and Ricky Radatz were introduced through mutual friends and quickly fell in love. The young couple married on June 5, 1970, were blessed with two children and made their home in Westland before settling in Brighton in 1989.
Sandi loved Elvis and casinos. Her love of gambling allowed her and Rick to travel the country, from Las Vegas to Mississippi, where they could enjoy each other’s company and Sandi would inevitably hit the slots. After a game of golf and a pain in her side, Sandi was diagnosed with lung cancer on August 8, 2016. Shortly after, Sandi and Rick traveled to Las Vegas, Sandi’s favorite place, one last time.
A people person at heart and possessing an infectious smile, Sandi could quickly make a stranger into a friend through conversation. A woman with a generous heart and kind spirit, Sandi treasured her husband of forty six years, Rick Radatz; her son, Jeff (Heather Jackson); her daughter, Kristie Radatz Daus; grandchildren, Raegen and Jagger; her aunt, Helen Durkee and her many dear friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Noon, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Entombment Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday, October 20th from 2-8 PM.
Memorials may be made in her name to American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
