Robert “Zip” Joseph Clark, a resident of Hartland Twp., passed away after a valiant battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on April 14, 2018 at the age of 73.
In addition to Mary Frances “Francy” Clark, his beloved wife of 47 years, Zip is survived by their children, Bob (Margaret) Clark, Kerry (Bob) Sixbery, James (fiance Alicia Vieira) Clark, Tammy (Dougie) Fountaine, and Tom (Anne-Marie) Clark; grandchildren, Evelyn, Grady, Dagny, Will, Kira, Lena, Robert, Claire, Autumn, Ashton, Abby, Keaton, Elodine and Emmerich; brother, Tom (Joyce) Clark; sister, Kathy (John) Martis; sister-in-law, Carol Clark as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Zip was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (nee. Malady) and Regis Edward Clark; brothers, Ed and John Clark.
Zip dedicated himself to fearless adventure—motorcycle-jumping, skiing, snowboarding, flying, sailing, camping, etc. He spent his career in sales management with Kmart Corp. and Superior Walls. Most recently, Zip was the Executive Vice President of Residential Refuse Containment with Dougie’s Disposal. Zip will be missed most as a loving husband, father and PopPop.
Memorial Gathering will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 East Main Street, Brighton on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6-8 PM. Rosary 7 PM.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held from St. John Catholic Church, historic church building with steeple located at the southwest corner of M59 and Hacker Road, 1991 N. Hacker Road, Howell, on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 AM with gathering to begin the hour prior at 10 AM. The Rev. Fr. Francis George to officiate.
Memorial contributions encouraged to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital for Cancer Research, with checks payable to “University of Michigan,” Michigan Medicine Office of Development, Attn: Mott Giving Team, 1000 Oakbrook Dr., Suite 100, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
