Obituary for Robert Eugene Adamski

Robert E. Adamski, of Brighton, Michigan passed away October 26, 2021 at the age of 71.

Bob was born in Detroit on December 26, 1949 to Eugene and Bernadine Adamski, joining his older brother, Bernard. He graduated from De La Salle Collegiate High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He enjoyed a long career as a production superintendent at Ford Motor Company, eventually retiring from there.

Bob loved lights and enjoyed visiting places with lots of light displays and Las Vegas was one of the best places to view them. It was on a trip to Vegas for his 40th birthday that he and Jan decided to get married while there. After that, they would travel back to celebrate their anniversary. Other ways that Bob enjoyed lights was by decorating for Halloween and Christmas. Aside from decorating he also loved to tell scary stories around Halloween to kids. Everyone enjoyed his stories.

His love of Michigan began while he was young and his family would go on frequent picnics to the different parks around the Detroit area. It continued throughout his life by going on many trips throughout Michigan and visiting Mom and Pop places. One of his favorite destinations was Copper Harbor. His Michigan love was also shown to all of the area sports teams, especially to the University of Michigan teams. Bob enjoyed playing many different card games and vacations that involved golfing.

Bob loved his family, spending as much time as possible with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed showing them all the places he loved to visit during his childhood.

He had a dry sense of humor, loving to laugh. His great chuckle will be missed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Janet, of 31 years; children, Jill Marie (Jason) Young and Andrew Robert Adamski; grandchildren, Addison Young, Aubrey Young, Dafney Pranga, Kaylan Adamski, and Matthew Adamski; mother, Bernadine Adamski; brother, Bernard Adamski; sister-in-law, Diane (David) Vesey; nieces and nephews, Tracy (Scott) Elliott, Derek Adamski, Lauren (Ethan) Fackler, Rachel (Rocco) DiNiglio, Jennifer Vesey, and Kyle Vesey; and former sister-in-law, Peggy Adamski; also survived by many great-nieces, nephews and treasured life-long friends. Bob is also survived by his cherished dog companion, Murphy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Adamski; and father and mother-in-law, Donald and Helen Braley.
