Obituary for Peter Paul Collura

Peter P. Collura died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.

Peter Paul Collura, born October 30th 1930. Only son, youngest of six older sisters! Loved baseball, pitcher at Fordson High and played in American Legion All-Star games at Briggs Stadium. Graduated from Fordson High School--1948 Pete had his first date with Harriett Eleanor Santo at Town Drive-In in Redford, Michigan. Turns out they fell in love, Pete and Harriett married at St. Raphael Church, Garden City on June 13th 1953. Peter worked in Ford Dealerships forever, 48 years. Pete and Harriett had their first house built for them on Lathers Street in Livonia, Michigan. They had 6 kids in 10 years in that house! Their children were growing up so they decided they needed a bigger house. Pete and Harriett packed up their 6 children in Livonia, and moved out to Milford, Michigan in 1969. They had their second house built for them in Milford Township. Pete and Harriett needed a vacation at times, so they bought a cottage up north in St. Helen. As their children grew up, they had kids of their own making Pete and Harriett grandparents of 5 grandchildren. Then their grandchildren had children making Pete and Harriett great-grandparents! The two love birds were growing old together; they had their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003! Now they have been married for 58 years! Pete and Harriett loved to travel, they had a time share in Buxton, North Carolina where they would go fishing out on the beautiful ocean. Pete celebrated his 80th birthday on October 30th 2010 with his family. He also won the best Dad/Grandpa award: 2010

Santo); children, Thomas Collura, Diane Collura, Susan (Randy) Ray, Kathleen (Bob) Sager, Carol (Paul) Pipoly, Annette (Ron) Regan; grandchildren, Randy Ray, Heather (nee.
