Pauline S. Russell passed away peacefully at St. John's Providence Park Hospital while in the care of Reverence Hospice and her family, June 13, 2014 at the age of 93.
Born April 7, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, Pauline was the youngest of 5 children born to parents Sulta (Stepanov) and Joca Sekulich. Pauline and her siblings were raised in the Detroit community.
Following high school, Pauline began working with the Ford Motor Company. It is here that she met the young Howard L. Russell. The two fell in love and were married thereafter. The couple was blessed by the births of their two daughters Shelley and Susan. Howard became a regional marketing supervisor for General Motors and the family lived in many locations in the eastern United States.
Pauline enjoyed 3 1/2 years of residency at Caretel Inns of Brighton. She was an active participant in all of the community's activities whether it was games or crafts or listening to her favorite live musicians. Pauline always enjoyed hand-making bead jewelry, especially bracelets.
Pauline was preceded in death by Howard L. Russell (d. 1978), her beloved husband of 30 years.
Pauline is survived by her daughters Shelley Blanchard and her husband Tony and Susan Wiegand and her husband John, her grandchildren Daniel Russell Blanchard, Kati Ann Jewell and her husband Chad, Caroline Marie Blanchard, and John Nicholas Wiegand, and many nieces and nephews including MaryBeth Walsh and her husband Ray.
Memorial Gathering will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 East Main Street, Brighton on Sunday, June 22, from 1 - 3 PM.
A Time of Sharing will take place at 2:30 PM.
Private interment of ashes will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
Memorials may be made in Pauline's name to Reverence Hospice, 37650 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, Michigan, 48036, or to a charity of choice.
