Born on May 15, 1919 in Akron, Michigan, she was the daughter of The Reverend Reginald and Maude (Farrow) Feuell. When her father was assigned to the Methodist Church in Midland, Muriels family moved there and it was while attending high school she met Karl Sonderegger who was working for a local funeral home.
