On Monday, May 30th, 2022, Michael Joseph Lyszak, a loving son, brother, grandchild, and friend passed away by taking his life at his home in Hartland, MI.
Born, July 10th, 2022 in Ann Arbor, MI, to Michael and Kathleen Lyszak. He is the younger brother to Kaitlin and Jenna Lyszak, beloved Grandchild to Harry Daniel (Dan) Lyszak, Carol Lyszak, Ronald Wathen, and Cecelia Wathen.
Michael spent his childhood playing and laughing with his siblings and cousins. One of his favorite pastimes was riding around on his toy truck up and down the driveway as a toddler. He told us of his many happy memories throughout his short life, before he passed. Michael loved playing soccer. He grew up playing soccer from the age of 4, and throughout his years made lifelong friendships and was awarded a shelf worth of trophies. In 2016, he attended Hartland High School where he developed an interest in Computer Science. In his Freshman year, he was even awarded a 1st place trophy for ‘Excellence in Craftsmanship” from the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society, for designing a gaming console. Michael continued to play soccer throughout High School, all the way up until his final game senior year. After High School, Michael began attending Washtenaw Community College where he took online classes. He was finishing up the last month of his Associate's Degree in Computer Science before his passing.
Michael enjoyed summer days at the lake with his family, playing soccer with his friends, and playing video games all hours of the night. Michael is so loved and will be missed dearly, please find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Kathleen Lyszak; his sisters, Kaitlin and Jenna Lyszak; his grandmothers, Carol Ann Lyszak and Cecilia Wathen; aunts, Chris (Brian) Belt and Patricia (Chuck) Dantes; his uncle, Jeremiah (Caitlin) Wathen; cousins, Daniel, Callie, Jacquelin, C.J., Henry and Madeleine as well as many close friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harry Daniel “Dan” Lyszak and Ronald Wathen.
Memorial contributions are encouraged in Michael’s name to AFSP (American foundation for suicide prevention) and also https://gofund.me/9dd32af0 has been set up to assist the family.
A Memorial Service will take place at Lynch & Sons, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 12:00PM. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Pastor, Brad Tate to officiate.
