Michael Doran, a resident of Brighton, passed peacefully on July 25, 2019 at Michigan Medicine Hospital He was born in Detroit, MI, son to the late Anna and Frank Doran.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie, whom he married in December 1975. He is also survived by his dear sister Patricia and brother-in-law Paul Martini, Brother in law, Gregory (Marilyn) Humphrey; nieces and nephew, Sarah (Adam) Karabelski, Kimberly (Steve) Jolliff, Kenneth (Amy) Humphrey; great nephew, Henry Karabelski; great nieces, Gabrielle Jolliff, Emma and Ava Humphrey, as well as extended family and many dear friends. He will be greatly missed by his cats; Baby, Spooky and Big Boy.
He is preceded in death by his sister-in-laws Sandra Humphrey and Teresa Gibbons.
Michael served in the Marine Corps. He graduated from Michigan Tech and worked as an Electrical Project Manager and Estimator for Bayview Electric and Lake Erie Electric. He was a member of the IBEW Local #58 and the Engineering Society of Detroit.
Michael and Stephanie made the move to Brighton from Garden City in 1985. He became a proud member of the Howell Gun Club and served as a Range Safety Officer for many years.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed all types of outdoor sports and recreation, especially hiking adventures out West. He enjoyed many great conversations along with a glass of Bushmills Whiskey as he was an Irishman through and through.
Memorial visitation will be held on September 26 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 600 East Main Street, Brighton, MI, with a time of sharing at 6 PM. Military Honors and Interment of Ashes on Friday, September 27 at 11 AM (please arrive at 10:45 if attending)
Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Howell Gun Club, 3210 Jewell Road, Howell, MI 48843 or Humane Society of Livingston County, 2464 Dorr Road, Howell, MI 48843.
