Obituary for Matthew Andrew Boehmer, Jr.

Matthew Andrew Boehmer, Jr., 69, of Howell, formerly of Southgate for many years, and husband of Diane for 44 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

A hard-working, skilled tradesman, journeyman, and machine repairman for Chrysler for over 40 years, Matthew was well respected by his peers and his work family. He spent the majority of his years at the Stamping plant in Warren, Michigan and retired in 2016.

He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on October 9, 1951, the oldest of four boys to the late Matthew, Sr., and Yolande Boehmer. He graduated from Schafer High School and attended Wayne State University before attending trade school to become a specialized automotive mechanic. Matthew married Diane Bauer on October 1, 1977 and was the proud father of two girls and two grandchildren.

Matthew was a man dedicated to his craft and will be greatly missed.

Devoted husband of Diane for 44 years. Loving father of Elizabeth Schultz (Jeffrey) and Amanda Boehmer (fiancé Jason Martin). Proud grandfather of Liam Schultz and Lucy Schultz. Brother of David Boehmer (Anne), John Boehmer (Lynn), and Yolande Boehmer. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial luncheon will be held at St. Mary's Cultural Center on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 12:00pm. Please RSVP to Beth at bboehmer285@gmail.com
