Pat had a well lived life of 99 years. Born in Springwells, Michigan in 1922, she passed from this life to
the next on January 20, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Highland, MI.
She raised her 3 children with loving kindness and generosity, and spread that loving kindness and
generosity to her three grandsons as well.
Most of her life was lived in Dearborn. In her early years she enjoyed the Bohemian Club with her sisters
and parents and practiced gymnastics with the Sokols. Beyond Kolacky, she never met a cookie she
didn't like.
A Fordson High School graduate, she remained friends with Grace (Hlavka) Young with many saved letters.
Early in her marriage she worked in retail when Crowley's opened in Dearborn, and Sally's Gift Shop and
Jacobson's also in Dearborn. She wrote out all marriage invitations for her extended family because of
her beautiful penmanship
Pat's hobby was creating house floor plans and she collaborated on the plans for the houses her sons
designed and built. She also created a beautiful garden at her Dearborn home.
She enjoyed working puzzles and was gifted a membership in the puzzle-of-the-month club by her son,
Jerry and received more puzzles from her daughter-in-law, Sharon. Her loving companions were Yorkie terriers that also enjoyed the puzzles - absconding with any pieces that happened to drop on the floor.
She had a sweet disposition, a delightful laugh and twinkling blue eyes. Will be missed by all who knew
her.
Beloved wife of the late Ignatius “Wally” Waligora. Loving mother of Cheri Skomra (Anthony), Jerry Waligora, and the late Larry Waligora (Sharon). Devoted grandmother of Kirk Waligora (Elizabeth), Jack Waligora, and Cole Waligora. Proud great-grandmother of two. Dear sister of the late Georgine Josephine Curran (late Lawrence) (and formerly Georgine Josephine Skinner (the late Gerald) nee Georgine Josephine Cervik), as well as sister of the late Virginia Margaret Steadman (late Robert) (formerly Virginia Margaret Nemetz (late Joseph) nee Virginia Margaret Cervik). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Services are being held privately.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation in Pat's memory to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund at https://curealz.org
