Marilyn G. Pittman, age 70, a longtime resident of Brighton, passed away in the loving care of her family on October 13, 2012.
Marilyn Gene (Blough) Pittman was born on October 12, 1942 to parents Mearl and Barbara (Worman) Blough in Angola, Indiana. Marilyn met the love of her life, Lee, when they were students at Bowling Green State University and they were married on January 11, 1964. In the early 70s, Marilyn and Lee made their home in Brighton where they raised their children, Cindy and Michael. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend and did everything she could to provide for her family, even if it meant working nights as a waitress. Marilyn had the opportunity to work with her husband at Lee Pittman Realty, worked in accounting with Cars and Concepts and was the bookkeeper for the Livingston Womens Club for many years. Her love of organizing and meticulous nature made her well suited for her work. Marilyn had a love of traveling, in addition to their many trips throughout the country the couple traveled to Jamaica for many years. Marilyn and Lee enjoyed coming home to the end of winter (Marilyn's least favorite season) and they acquired several friends on the island. She loved to garden and looked forward to planting flowers and growing vegetables every year. Many join her family in mourning the loss of a loving, caring and honest woman while giving thanks for her life among them.
Beloved wife of 48 years to Lee Pittman; caring mother to Cindy Taylor and Michael Pittman; sister to David (Colleen) Blough; sister-in-law to Frank (Dottie), Gregory (Patrice), Patrick (Brenda), Jon (Deb) and Amanda (David) Mezger and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A special thanks to the staff at Ashley Court and Odyssey Hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Friday, October 19th at 11 AM. Friends may visit Thursday 2-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association.
