Obituary for Lucille "Lucy" Marie Doll

Lucille “Lucy” Marie Doll, of Howell, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family. She was 9 years old.

Lucy had a fun outlook on life. Her family will remember her for so many things that the list would never end. Just to name a few in her memory, the first would be her love for Minnie Mouse. One of the fondest of memories was how her brother Harry covered her in so many of her stuffed Minnie’s that all they could see was her face. So much of her joy came from the objects of Minnie and even watching her on TV. As of late she even grew fond of Fancy Nancy.

One of Lucy’s many “favorites” was school. She will be remembered by the entire staff at Pathway School in Howell, where they treated Lucy with the upmost care. All who knew her loved her and dedicated not only their time while in school to help teach her, but also even after hours on their own personal time. Her favorite class was Art. Give her some paint and she became a Picasso. Even if the paint splattered beyond the protection from spillage, Her teacher would let her continue. Some of the other things she loved to do in school were gym and sensory rooms. Lucy’s love of the sensory rooms in school didn’t come as surprise to her family as she always loved to put her hands in the tissue paper that comes in gift bags, especially around Christmas time when she adored the way the lights sparkled on the tree. Holidays were always days she looked forward to celebrating. Halloween was probably by far the greatest time of year for her as she would get to dress up. Lucy and her brother would always find a costume that paired well with one another, like little red riding hood and the big bad wolf. Lucy laughed so hard when Harry was dressed in costume because of how silly he looked walking in the costume. Along with the dress up, Lucy loved carving pumpkins and sticking her hands in the guts of the pumpkins.

Lucy had fun dressing up, her beauty baths, and being pampered. She had fun playing with balloons, and swimming in the water. So much so that her family called her a “waterbug”. Most of all she had fun and loved her family. Her brother cared for her like no other. He adored her, followed her, watched tv with her, and would often be found laying by her side. Harry would do anything to make her feel special, like kissing her on her hand.

The family would love to say thank you to her nanny’s, teachers, nurses, and Pathway School that all helped and cared for Lucy. They are forever grateful and honored to know each of you.

Lucy is survived by her parents Brett and Christy Doll; brother, Harry Doll; great grandparents, grandparents; great-aunts and great-uncles; aunts and uncles; many cousins, also very beloved friends that Lucy enjoyed so much that they became her second family; many extended family and dear friends.

Lucy is preceded in death by her grandma, Cindi Marie Doll.
