Lori Anne Colby, of South Lyon, passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2021. She was 59 years old.
Lori will be remembered for her love of butterflies and roses. Her coffee always had to come from Speedway. Her favorite college was Notre Dame. Along with some of these things, nothing compares to her love for her family and friends.
Her nephews and grandchildren spent as much time as they could with Lori. Even in her final days they would visit her as often as they could, which was a testament to their love for one another. They didn’t want her to be alone. Lori’s family always came first. Her daughter Gwen and her family, learned so much of what that meant from her, they made sure that she knew that as well, while they helped to care for her as she stayed with them.
Lori’s friends will remember her for her heart, compassion, and kindness. Even as the years went on, she would send a message through social media, or even a brief text, just so you know that she was thinking of you.
Daughter of the late William and Rosemary Brick, Lori is survived by her children, Sarah Colby, and daughter Gwen (Nicholas) VanBuhler; grandchildren, Kaydence S., Stella R., Nicholas B,. And Delilah A. VanBuhler; siblings, Lynn Anway, Kathy Talarico, and Kevin W. Brick; ex-husband Steven Colby; nephews, Michael J., and Anthony W. Talarico; also many extended family and dear friends.
Lori is preceded in death by her son Brandon Colby, and sister, Lisa Baynai.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 24th, at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St. Brighton, 48116. Gathering will begin at 11 AM with a Time of Sharing set to begin at 3 PM.
