Obituary for Kim Trasciatti

Kimberly Ann Trasciatti, age 66 and a resident of Hartland, died in an automobile accident on Saturday, February 18, 2017, along with her mother, Lorraine Haas and brother, Kevin Haas. Kim was an active parishioner and Stephen Minister at St. John Catholic Church.

Kim was born on November 21, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, the second child of eight to Rourke J. and Lorraine (nee. Reck) Haas. After graduation from Southfield High School, Kim attended Oakland Community College. Kim met Alan Trasciatti in Southfield and the couple married on September 6, 1969. They were blessed with the births of their two sons, and the family moved from Southfield to Hartland in 1978. For many years, Kim worked as a dental assistant, most recently with Howell Family Dentist and formerly at Charlick Dental, Brighton and Fowlerville Dental Center. Kim often reflected fondly over the friendships she made with the people she worked with and the patients she came to know.

Kim was often described as a “ray of sunshine” — she always had a smile on her face and was the life of the party. She was always ready for fun, generous with her affection and eager to make treasured memories. She loved to travel, especially to see family and friends. Her three famous saying were, “Choose to be happy”, “It is what it is” and “Time to Party!”. Kim lived a passionate life, blessed with authentic joy, deep love and real meaning.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rourke Haas in 2015, and a brother, Kerry. She is survived by her husband, Alan Trasciatti; sons, Jamie (Mandy) and David; grandchildren, Alexis, Skyler and Adriana; brothers, Marc (Susann) Haas, Richard (Madhu) Haas, Randy Haas, Sean (Alex) Haas, Kelly (Michelle) Haas and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 1-8 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2099 N. Hacker Road, Howell on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 AM, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. The Rev. Fr. Francis George to officiate.
