Obituary for Karen I. Bartman

Karen Bartman, a resident of Howell, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 20, 2020. She was 69 years old.

Karen was born on June 17, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University and spent her working career as a dedicated pre-school and elementary school teacher.

Karen loved shopping, dancing and boxing with her Rock Steady Team. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Bartman of 19 years; daughters, Michelle (David) Herkowitz, Amy (Jason) O’Farrell and Katie (Jeff) Zelski; step-son, David (Star) Bartman; grandchildren, Madelyn, Mackenzie and Marissa Herkowitz; Charlie and Lily O’Farrell; Landon, Kendall and Hudson Zelski; Dylan and David Bartman; siblings, Pam (Rich) Traskos, Mike (Debbie) Tackett, Janice Smith, Nancy Tackett-Clement and Dianne Tackett, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Lucille (nee. Mitchell) Tackett; infant daughter, Mary Connor; and brothers Kenny Tackett and Dave Tackett.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 2201 Old US-23 Highway, Brighton, MI on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11 AM with gathering beginning at 10AM.
The Rev. Fr. Dave Harvey to officiate.
