Obituary for Joseph Patrick Rymarczyk

Joseph Patrick Rymarczyk, 86, of Lyon Township and former longtime resident of Brighton for over 20 years, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Joe grew up in Hamtramck, proud of his Polish roots. He was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1935 to the late John and Mary Rymarczyk. He was an entrepreneur having been involved owning multiple businesses over the years. Joe spent the majority of time as a bar owner. He had a print shop at one point, and a party store. He was not afraid to be adventurous in business. He had a great attitude and knew that a smile went a long way along with a little hard work.

In his free time, Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and especially playing cards. Joe married Gloria on February 5, 1972 and joined families. He loved his family and enjoyed life and retirement with his beloved Gloria, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He truly enjoyed going to Aruba every year for over 30 years.

Devoted husband of Gloria for 49 years. Loving father of Steve Rymarczyk (Jane), Susan Dechow (Curt), Genine Tobel (Keith), and Gary Anderson. Cherished grandfather of 12, proud great-grandfather of 12 plus three more on the way. Dear brother of Sandy Gillis (Jim) and the late Barbara Lehmann (late David).

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the National Kidney Foundation in Joe’s memory.
