Obituary for Joseph Andrew Dunne

Joseph Andrew Dunne, of Howell, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 5, 2019.

Joe was born November 30, 1933, in Detroit to parents Leo and Evelyn Dunne. Like his brothers, Joe enlisted in the military, where he proudly served his country in the United States Army 7th Armored Tank Division. Following his time in the military, Joe worked for Ford Motor Co. for over 30 years before retiring from the World Headquarters in Dearborn. His faith, love for his family and friends, chivalry and countless other admirable qualities made Joe the role model for both friends and family. His stories, smile and immeasurable generosity will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Cassiday Dunne; daughters Joan, Carol, Theresa (Roger) Crown, and son David; grandchildren Megan, Justin (Rebecca), Adam (Emily) Crown and Anna (Bryan) VanBuskirk; 9 great-grandchildren, and his siblings William (Regina) Dunne, Sister Celestine Dunne, Anne Pecheniuk, Patricia (Joseph) Bozich and Dennis Dunne, as well as many other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the Dunne family asks donations be made to Fr. Solanus Casey Center: solanuscenterorg/ways-to-help/donations or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: stjude.org/donate
