Obituary for James Alfred Stem

James Alfred Stem, born February 5, 1937, a resident of Brighton, MI died on Sunday, December 13, 2020. He was 83 years old.

Jim served as a medic in the United States Army, received a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and went on to pursue a career in sales. He spent a good portion of his career as the owner of Stem’s Auto Supply in Livonia, MI

During his retirement, he cherished time with his family. He enjoyed golf, reading and watching sports. He was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers, MSU football and the Detroit Lions. His happy place was up north at his family cottage. He was also an avid baker of chocolate chip cookies!

Jim married the love of his life, Anna on February 18, 1995. He was a devoted husband, loving son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He knew how to light up a room and how to make people laugh. He was truly a friend to all who met him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna; brother, John (Patricia); daughters, Sandy, Katherine,Caroline (Bill) and Diana (Tom); stepson, Scott (Val); grandchildren, Camille, Danielle, Allison,Ruby, Ava, Tommy, Lucas, Katherine, Bobby, Tony, Bobby B. and Steven; great-grandchildren, Breelyn and Rhylee; nephew, Steve and niece, Tracey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Frances Stem and his stepson Bob (Barb).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, services will be held privately and a Celebration of Life will be planned for the Spring of 2021. Mass of the Resurrection will be live streamed on Monday, December 21, 2020, beginning at 10:30AM. Please click on the link below to watch the service.
