Helen Bobovski, a resident of Brighton, MI., died on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She was 87 years old.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She always had a great, unconditional love for everyone and babies had a special place in her heart. Her cooking and baking skills were exceptional, with her Kolach, Slovak nut roll, being her specialty.
Helen was born in Lambert, Pennsylvania on July 29, 1933. Shortly after she moved to Detroit, she met the love of her life, Joe, and married on April 18, 1953. She was a constant support and encourager to not only her husband, children, and grandchildren but also her nieces, nephews, neighborhood children and anyone who entered her life. She worked at Oakwood Hospital as a nurse’s aide on the maternity ward, giving her love to both staff and the babies and their families. Throughout her life, she was a constant support to her family, traveling to care for grandchildren, being present at many of their significant events. Helen always put others needs before her own.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph, her children, Joseph (Pat) Bobovsky, Margaret (Mark) Bauer, Thomas (Lisa) Bobovski, her grandchildren; Thomas Bauer, Patrick (Katie) Bauer, Caitlin (Alex) Harmon, Alexandra (Jan) Nettekoven and Taylor Bobovsky; and her great-grandchildren, Pebblez, Isis, Cyrus, Amelia, Zain, Lilianna, Jasper, Owen and Olivia. She is preceded in death by her daughter Teresa Bobovsky
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Patrick Parish, 711 Rickett Rd., Brighton, MI, 48116 on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 10:30AM. Friends and family may gather beginning at 9:30AM.
