Harold L. Bricker of Brighton, passed away peacefully in the care of his family on November 24, 2014. He was 80 years old.
Harold was born on November 13, 1934 in Bad Axe, Michigan to Gertrude (Osowski) and Mike Bricker. He graduated from Troy High School in 1953. On April 25, 1959, nine months after meeting while square dancing, Harold married the love of his life, Josie. They married at Redeemer Church in Birmingham, MI. They made their home in Warren Michigan and were blessed with the birth of their children, Michael and Michele. Harold was a hard worker and spent over 30 years working with New York Life Insurance Company. Known for his wit and sense of humor, Harold was quick with the one-liners. He and Josie would be the first ones on the dance floor, and he could be counted on to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Harold loved life and loved the Lord. He attended church with Josie at Hope Lutheran Church, in Florida, where they lived for 26 years. He also attended at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in more recent years. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed fishing, baseball and bowling. He and Josie loved traveling and adventured through Alaska in their motor home two times.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Josie; son, Michael (Beverly) Bricker; daughter, Michele Shelly (Mike) Swartz; grandchildren, Danielle (Pride) Mudzwova and Marcus Swartz; great-grandchildren Sinoyah and Isaiah; sisters, Bette (Eldon) Batte and Sharon McKelvey; nieces, Susan Batte and Deborah Dearing; nephews, Steven Batte and David McKelvey; also their adoptive family in Florida, Michelle and Jim Matarazzo and their children, Mandy and Marie.
