Obituary for Gerald L. Page

Gerald L. Page, of Brighton and formerly Illinois, passed away in the care of his family on May 19, 2012. He was 76 years old.

Jerry was born on January 18, 1936 to parents Virgil and Eunice Page. Born and raised in Illinois, Jerry was active in showing hogs in the Franklin Grove 4-H, engaged in speaking contests in Future Farmers of America, played on the high school basketball team and participated in school plays. Jerry was a man who valued his faith and relationship with the church. As a child he played the trumpet and piano in church bands, played on the church baseball league and met the love of his life, Patricia, in church. Later the two found out their families lived just three miles apart, were married in 1958 and have been blessed with two children and two granddaughters. Together Jerry and Pat remained heavily involved in the church community; they taught Sunday school classes, mentored youth groups and served as Deacons at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton and Howell First Baptist Church. Jerry was an avid reader, from newspapers to religious history, and loved to learn. After obtaining his Masters degree at Northern Illinois University, Jerry continued to take college courses throughout his life. Professionally, Jerry was the Senior CFO Vise President of a financing company and held the position of President and Treasurer for IMA, Institute of Managerial Accounting.

Jerry will be deeply missed but always remembered for his generosity to all and devotion to his faith and family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Patricia A. Page; loving children, Debbie (Luke) LaClaire and Gerald A. Page; grandchildren, Lauren and Amanda LaClaire; brother, Virgil C. Page, Jr., as well as many dear extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 9455 Hilton Rd
Brighton, on Friday, May 25 at 10 AM. Friends may gather at the church 9 AM until the time of service. The Rev. Brian Tweedie to officiate. Burial and Military honors at Oakland Hills Cemetery, Novi.
