Obituary for Georgianna Allen

Georgianna T. Allen, of Brighton, passed away peacefully in her home on June 17, 2016 at the age of 77.

Georgianna was born on February 1, 1939 in St. Jacques, Michigan to George and Carrie (nee. Ozomick) Hardwick. She enjoyed a forty year career as a beautician and was an active member of the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Chippewa Indians.

Ms. Allen was a strong and avid supporter of our military, Veterans and Homeless Veterans. Georgianna was a beloved life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, VFW Post 4357 Ladies Auxiliary in Brighton, MI since 1984.

She has served as President over six times and served in many other elected and chairmanship positions. At the state of Michigan level she was honored three times as the VFW All State Auxiliary President.

Ms. Allen has received numerous awards and recognition. She received two state of Michigan Special Tribute for her hard work and dedication to the VFW. She was Livingston County’s Veterans Auxiliary Member twice.

She was humbled and honored to have supported the Michigan Veterans Foundation-Detroit Veterans Center for Homeless Veterans for over 20 years.

She is survived by sons, Wayne Hardwick of Brighton, Michael “Chris” Hardwick of Hamburg, Harold “Chuck” Allen of Brighton; Daughters, Katrina “Kat” Allen of Brighton, Darlene Pearson, Brighton, and Cindy Bloomfield of Whitmore Lake; sister, Angeline “Angie” Pavlat of Stafford, VA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Hardwick, her husband, Harold Allen and daughter, Debbie Allen.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday, June 19th from 1-7 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Michigan Veterans Foundation.
