Frank Ronald Wittman of Brighton, Michigan, died at The Willows of Howell on Monday, March 1, 2021. He was 82 Years old. Born on September 18, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the only son of Katherine and Frank Wittman. Frank had two sisters, Evelyn and Dorothy. He attended Garden City High School and graduated in 1956. After high school he went into the tool and die profession working for Evans Tool.
In June, 1960, he met Pamela Gray through his best friend, Larry Wing. They began a courtship until he was drafted in the U.S. Army in February, 1961, and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. Pam and Frank continued their long-distanced relationship and were married at Garden City Presbyterian Church on April 26, 1962, while Frank was on his basic training leave. Frank returned to the army to continue his service, while Pam lived with her parents. Once housing became available, in January 1963, Pam moved to Massachusetts to be with Frank. Pam and Frank had three children, Frank born in 1963, Michael born in 1965, and Adam born in 1972.
In 1970, Frank and his dad started their own tool and die shop called FW Tool, out of a garage. In 1973, the business was growing so they moved into a building located in Westland. The business continued to flourish and father and son worked together for twenty-five years. After the shop was sold, Frank continued to work for several other tool and die companies.
In 2005, Frank officially retired. In his retirement days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, going to auctions, collecting coins, and gambling. Pam and Frank were married 58 years.
