Obituary for Esther L. Jarvis

Esther L. Jarvis, a longtime resident of Brighton, passed away on April 23, 2015 at Wellbridge of Brighton.



She was born June 27th, 1925 in Farmington, Michigan, a daughter of Arthur and Ann (Walkoff) Luttermoser. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to New Hudson and she attended the New Hudson Consolidate School and graduated with the Class of 1943 and moved to Brighton in 1948. On April 23, 1949, she married Harold Jarvis, Jr. at the St. George Lutheran Church in Brighton. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1999. Harold was owner of Jarvis Men�s Store in Brighton, served on the Brighton Volunteer Fire Department as Chief and many other local functions.



Surviving are sisters, May Housner and Julia Falk; sisters-in-law, Elaine Luttermoser, Violet Luttermoser, Jane Tomlinson and Shirley Jarvis and many nieces and nephews including, nephews, Kenneth, Larry, Rick, and Ronnie Luttermoser; Ray, Craig, and Brian Luttermoser; Jack, Stephen and James Miller; Randy and Ernest Housner; Dennis Falk; Neil and Dale Tomlinson; Craig Jarvis; nieces, Orlynn Silvas, Lisia Woods, Pamela Munson, Grace Miller, Connie Stagner, Karen Jacobs, Brenda DiBancia, Cathy Doan, Julie Santinga, Christine Slagle, Mary Tomlinson, Jone Hall and Susan Jarvis.



Esther was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Norman and Robert Otto Luttermoser; sisters, Doris Holloway and June Miller; niece, Debra Luttermoser; brother-in-law, John Jarvis and Bill Tomlinson, and Dear Friend, Charles Brady on December 31, 2010.



Esther was a retiree of General Motors Corporation, Proving Grounds Section, mostly in the Personnel Department with 37 years of service. She was a member of the Brighton Historical Society, Brighton Senior Center, Pleasant Valley Social Club, Mount Brighton Whisk-Skiers Club. She was an avid bowler, golfer and so called navigator (in Harold�s plane) on their many trips in the United States - they enjoyed traveling and spend many winters in Arizona.



Interment of ashes will take place at Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
