Eloise Avy Gilmore, a resident of Independence Village of Brighton, long time music teacher with Garden City elementary schools, and former resident of Bronson, Garden City and Linden, died peacefully at her home on October 18, 2017 at the age of 85.
She is survived by her husband, Howard F. Gilmore; her children, John (Sue); Mark (Raini), Ruth (Bob) Perkey and Paul (Dawn); eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Carol) Youells, Gen (Jerry) Flanary, Vivian (Gar) Lemon, Alice (Steve) Bontekoe, Dorothy (Bruce) Allen, Jim (Dottie) Youells, and much extended family and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma (Fred) Rapps.
Friends may gather at Independence Village of Brighton, 7700 Nemco Way, Brighton, on Saturday, October 21, 10 AM - 4 PM.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Byron, 101 S. Ann St., Byron, on Sunday, October 22, at 1:30PM. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the church.
