GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Robert “Bob” Paszko, a resident of Green Oak Township and formerly a resident of Canton Twp., died at his home on Sunday, December 11, 2016 after a heart attack.
Bob was born on December 17, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan, the eldest son of Aloyisus and Mary (nee. Corsiglia) Paszko. Following graduation from Frank Cody High School, Bob earned an Associate Degree in Autobody Design from Henry Ford Community College and enjoyed a long career as an Autobody designer and Supervisor with Ford Motor Company, until his retirement in 2007.
Bob met the young Sherry Gomoll at the Dearborn Heights 4th of July Carnival. Bob and Sherry were living on opposite sides of Silver Lake Park in Dearborn Heights, and the carnival brought them together. After a brief courtship, the couple married on January 9, 1975 and were blessed with their two sons, Jeff and Jason. The family made their home in Canton Twp for twenty eight years before moving to Green Oak Township in 2004. Bob was a devoted husband, a proud dad and a loving papa to his two grandchildren, Noah and Tessie. He was a constant role model for his two sons, and their biggest supporter.
Bob was an active parishioner for many years at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton. He enjoyed traveling the country with Sherry in his RV and was the Past President of Motor Cities Winnies. Bob also had a passion for politics. He studied and explored political science studies through Hillsdale College and was proud to be an RNC 8th District State Committeeman representing Livingston County. Bob was regarded as a “True Patriot”.
A people person at heart, Bob could quickly make a stranger into a friend through conversation. He was sweet, outgoing and friendly. He often reflected fondly over the friendships he made; the people he worked with, traveled with, his friends at the church and through politics.
He will be missed by many, especially his beloved wife of nearly forty three years, Sherry; their sons, Jeff (Krystin) and Jason; grandchildren, Noah and Tessie; brother, Norm (Diane); nieces, Lauren and Lindsey and his canine companion, Abbey Grace. He also leaves many extended family members and many dear friends who mourn his passing while thanking God for his life among them.
A Funeral Service will be held at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 9455 Hilton Road, Brighton on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2 PM. The Rev. Dr. Richard Alberta to officiate. Friends may visit the church on Thursday, December 15th from 4-8 PM, or on Friday from 1 PM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the church.
