Obituary for Beverly Ann Luke

Beverly Ann Luke, a loving wife, mother, grand and great grandmother, passed peacefully on December 14, 2017, following a year long battle after losing the love of her life in November of 2016. Beverly was a Minnesota native and following graduation from nursing school, she traveled to Hawaii where she met Robert in 1952. Her life was changed forever. They married after a very short courtship and were inseparable for 68 years, living their lives to the fullest. They were residents of Royal Oak, Troy and White Lake and finally settled in Brighton in 2014. Following her retirement from Madison Community Hospital in 1992, she never stopped enjoying life by traveling, playing golf, bridge, bunco in leagues and especially spending time at their Florida home with Bob. Although she enjoyed her activities to the fullest, her other true loves, besides any kind of chocolate, were her 4 sons, 4 daughters, 13 grand and 9 great-grandchildren. Traveling to watch them play football, baseball, softball or volleyball from little league through college, getting play by plays of their games if she missed them or simply betting with them on TV sports, playing card games, fishing, or just talking to them, warmed her heart and made her smile. Knowing her family was safe and happy was the most important thing in her life. Beverly was also a very kind, loving and supportive friend. Her heart was always open and welcoming to everyone she came into contact with, this shined through her actions and her smile.

Beverly is survived by her children, Kathy (Doug) Allen, Paul (Mary) Luke, Tim (Donna) Luke, Robin Pokoyoway, Robert Luke, Paula (Alan) Biebuyck, Cindy (Doug) Dibble; great/grandchildren, Dionne (Mick) Harris, Derek (Veronica) Allen, Ashley (Joel) Luke-Judycki, Robert Luke, Joe (Rachel) Luke, Jon (Liz) Luke, Danielle (Jake) Wyatt, Luke (Megan) Biebuyck, Zach (Megan) Dibble, Corinne & Robert Luke, Riley & Sterling Luke, Lindsey & Michael Harris, Haley, Katelyn & Brandon Allen, Violet & Nora Luke, Christopher & Kevin Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert and her eldest son, Richard (Mary Ann) Luke.

There will be a memorial luncheon in Beverly’s honor at a future date, after the holidays. Memorials may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Livingston County.
