GRIEF & HEALING

each stage of the grieving process.
Barbara Jean Keller of Brighton died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 8, 2021. She was 91 years old. She was born on September 3, 1929 in Nashville, Tennessee. Barbara was the daughter of David and Rosa Mae Engel.
Barbara later moved to Detroit where she met the love of her life and future husband, George Keller. She was a singer in a band which is how they met. George asked the band leader time after time if he could dance with Barbara, she agreed, from there he was her ever loving. They eventually married on June 7, 1952 at Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church in Detroit. She worked as an elevator starter when she first came to Detroit, then was employed as a customer service representative for several banks. Barbara retired from Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in the cashiers department, where she and George would ride together every morning. Barbara was a true American patriot and worked hard all her life.
They lived in Dearborn Heights for many years and then eventually moved to Livonia, and then finally built their dream home in Brighton. As a family they traveled together to Germany, Austria, Switzerland; went on several cruises, Gulf Shores, Alabama and many dinner trains to see Broadway plays like Phantom of the Opera in Toronto, Canada. Barbara also had a love for good food, frequenting many nice area restaurants such as Stillwater Grill and Fenton Hotel. In her later years, she loved to read, watch movies, enjoyed puzzles - especially the crossword puzzles in the newspaper, and television shows starring Tom Selleck. Barabara loved having her dog Cooper right by her side. She alway bought the latest toy or snack for him.
Barbara was up on all the latest trends and stayed attuned to the world and what was going on, She was a fighter and stayed strong as much as she could.
