Obituary for Ada Fay Cox

Ada Fay Cox, a resident of Fowlerville and former long time resident of Brighton, died at her home on September 12, 2016 at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cox, Sr. (d. 1991), a son, Marshall Dean Cox (d. 1976), daughters, Mary H. Cox (d. 1953) and Cathy Cook (d. 2009); and siblings, Marshall Smail, Troy Smail, Curt Smail, Jack Smail, Vaughn Smail, Sally Gallup, and her twin sister, Ida Caldwell.

Ada is survived by her son, James (Barb) Cox, Jr. of Howell; daughters, Susan Mantikas of California, Judy (Ken) Bingham of Howell, Connie (Clay) Starick of Waterford, Sharon (Kurt) Melvin of Howell, Nancy Fockler of Brighton, and Jeannie (Donnie) Cox of Livonia; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great great grandsons;
sister, Helen Osgood; and many neices and nephews and dear friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons, 600 East Main, Brighton on Friday, September 16, at 1PM. Burial will follow in Brighton Hills Cemetery. Friends may visit on Thursday, September 15, from 4-8PM. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
